A healthcare practice is seeking a professional and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist | Front Office Specialist to support front desk operations, patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, payment collection, and general clerical duties. This role is ideal for someone with strong customer service skills, medical office experience, and the ability to help ensure patients receive high-quality, efficient care.

This is a full-time, Monday through Friday daytime position with no nights, no weekends, no on-call, and no holidays.

Position Summary

The Medical Receptionist | Front Office Specialist provides clerical and administrative support within a medical office setting. This position serves as one of the first points of contact for patients and plays an important role in creating a professional, welcoming, and organized patient experience.

The ideal candidate is dependable, patient-focused, comfortable working with electronic health records, and able to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and internal team members.

Key Responsibilities

Greet patients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner

Answer phones and communicate with patients, providers, and staff

Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments

Check patients in and accurately document registration information

Verify insurance coverage and patient demographic information

Collect co-pays and payments from patients

Process credit card authorizations and cash payments as needed

Enter charges, payments, and balance daily transactions in the computer system

File, retrieve, copy, scan, and fax medical records and related documents

Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all privacy and compliance requirements

Support office workflow and assist with general clerical duties

Follow office policies, procedures, code of conduct expectations, and organizational values

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required

Experience in a medical office setting preferred

Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Basic computer skills, including data entry, scheduling systems, and office software

HIPAA training and/or a current HIPAA certificate is required

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and protect patient information at all times
